I’m so sorry I could not find the poem I wrote for Phil in 7th grade when I had a major crush on him. I hunted for a long time. This one is from 8th grade. It is basically a true story, grin!
Yes, his teacher had to correct a spelling error. . . no spell check back then.
Yes, I can hear all the meter “missteps”.
No! I don’t have a clue why the picture is doing this! Blogger is calling me back at this rate.

Cool poem! It’s fun to read something you wrote when you were a kid — a very creative kid at that!
Clare, I have to admit, way back then, I was so proud of my creative solution to his procrastination and dislike of poetry. The ironic thing is my brother grew up to be a musician and has been writing songs for years, just another word for poetry. LOL.
oh i love the way the new layout looks,,, i think the picture bridge,,, gives it great character… ah… young life… young love…
Paisley, thank you, I liked the effect on some of the pictures, and am adopting your term, “picture bridge”. I don’t think I will even try to change it. I’ll take old love any day. . .
What’s the picture supposed to be doing or not doing
Thankfully, all of the writings from before me have been safely destroyed.
Young love is so innocent and clear eyed.
Brian, the picture, I would think should be inside the box, but hey, I think outside the box all the time, so maybe I am sending it “outside the box” vibes. I would love to have read your earlier writings, it is a window to growth. Love, what love? My brother and I never got along as kids, but Phil, now… but that young love was totally unreciprocated.
I can’t read the poem on my screen for some reason - but your hand writing looks very neat =)
Thanks for stopping by my blog!! And for the WW welcome!!
Jessica, sorry you couldn’t read it, it was not exactly a brilliant poem, though. I hope this site won’t
always be so hard to read, its font is nearly as light as the old ink. Will be back to view more photos.
I only stated writing poetry since july 2005. That too was so bad.
This reads well. Great you kept it for so long.
Gautami - You sure made up for lost time! We all have poems that are less than stellar - I hope.
I love this! We were so honest and open then!
Susan, Thank you! I wish I could find my Phil poem, that was really honest!
I’ve kept some poems from my youth too. I really like this new layout btw.
Juliet, Thank you for the comment on my layout. I didn’t write many poems. I did rewrite a few of them, but it is fun to just leave a few as they were, as a memory.
