Beautiful poem. I like how Liz described the similarity of the remote control and pauses. The deep feeling of it is understood so deeply.

I really like how the brevity of each line highlights the feeling of slow motion and of pausing. You incorporated the remote control well and enhanced the impact of the horrific event.

I go in spells, Rose, when I ignore the news. Recently I got so tired of the violence, I wanted to be an ostrich. Then I realized that was not a solution, nor could I forget what I read anyway,, but I still try to be an ostrich every now and then.
