Haiku - Red-eared Sliders

Jaws and TJ
 
turtle stretches neck
snaps at hand that gently holds
returned to nature

red stripes, mottled back
strong shell protects from all but
collections of man
~~
tiny feet propel
claws rip anachoris leaves
us fascinated
