One Man’s Foundation – Poetry tumbles on

With the exception of the first poem in this series, I am taking the last line of one poem to begin the next poem. To read them in chronological order, together, as one work, please click on Poetry Tumble tab on the top bar. While you are there, read which poet’s line so enthralled me I begged to use it as my starting point. His poem, in its entirety is posted first, with his permission, of course. I added to it yesterday, but as there is no Poetry Thursday, I just had to continue:

One Man’s Foundation

But created by mind’s intentions laid
the vision of grandeur marched on

to become a personality of excess
a rule of dictatorship
a loss of friendship
(of any definition)
and a life of looking over his shoulder

the innocent child within caught up
as he struggled for his last breath at 67.

  1. Wow, what an interesting post. I read the most recent one as well. Had me laughing a bit. Changing the template is a complete bitch. Sorry to use that word, but it describes it well. I read a bunch of the poems and noticed I could not comment but that is okay. Sorry it’s been so long Marcia. My job may be changing so I could have more time, but this week is a 25 hour week. Piece of cake. Sad that Friday is the first day I bother writing. Oh well. Miss you tons.

Chris, I miss you tons, too. I think I have it all fixed now, days later. I switched templates again, since that post, but this one has to stay until we get the house sold, at least! I don’t have time to make anymore changes… I am missing too much reading and not responding to comments for days and days.. Glad you were laughing a bit!
