NaNoWriMo sign up Monday, October 1st

Evening, Pacific time, whatever that means; the evening part, I mean, I know what Pacific time is, grin. I am so excited. I haven’t even worked much on the first novel I started, but I know, that when I am ready I will. That is just how I work. Today, in prep for moving, I put my printed first draft into a notebook ready for the drive to Florida. It is really more of a novella then novel, I think, who knows what it will become, I only know that it will become.

But, I cannot resist trying another one during NaNoWrimo, November 1st to November 30th. We will have arrived in South Florida, Leon will be trying to get his license details ironed out and start learning the new career. Yes, I have to learn some of what he learns to assist him, but that still leaves me plenty of hours to type away. Afterall the temps in Florida will still be too high for me, so remaining inside will make me happy>

Last year I just started writing, having no clue where I was going and words just appeared like they do with my short stories and poems; I am counting on a repeat performance; I want to feel that free fall I felt last time. The one difference between last year and this year will be notes. Last year I couldn’t remember who was who and had a brother and sister in a romantic fling, thank goodness I caught it before the whole book went somewhere it was not supposed to… not that it couldn’t have gone that way, but it is not what I had intended… I finally got a dry erase board toward the end of the 30 days and put the characters up on the board, grin…. A mess, but so much fun.

Hmm, I bet Leon will buy me a dry erase board in Florida… if he is smart he will.

All of you organized people who like to prepare, sign up tomorrow and start planning, certain notes are allowed ahead of time, others aren’t, so check the rules… and you can bet I won’t do much if any pre-planning… Not me. I think the good old subconscious, aka. Muse, prefers to remain in control. Hey, sure makes it easier on me.

Remember, they do a lot of charity stuff, too, including setting up libraries, and they have a program for children to participate in, too. They do accept, ask for, beg for contributions and they are a nonprofit.

Hey, I was wondering if you knew anything about why the Nanowrimo signups seem to be delayed? “Evening, Pacific time” was last night and here we are the morning of the next day and they still aren’t allowing signups. Any idea what’s going on?

Mike, it is up now, I didn’t try last night, got sidetracked.
