With all the non-writing related work I have been doing this week, the poet within refused to let me away from my keyboard until I had done all three of her prompts… This is actually her first prompt. Join in y’all, what a combination of words Michelle comes up with!
language - chasm - peripeteia - sketch - stream
Language
Language was her life
I would say her whole life,
but she ate food
and slept
and bathed,
so it was less than whole.
The chasm that separated her from
humans to become an ice queen
was only bearable by the grace
of words that became her secret world
where she lived both the horrors of others
and the glory of what she could have been.
She was lonely, but she lived through
her words, so life was,
almost,
bearable.
Her personal peripeteia
when a simple sketch found
tossed by nature’s current
evoked emotions so strong
a stream of words drug her
into a river of conversation
that flowed into an ocean
of human beings.
