One quick poem now, will be back in a few days

to catch up on Unconscious Mutterings, Monday Mural, Haiku-One Deep Breath, Writers Island, and 3WW, etc…. Murphy’s Law regained entrance, we underestimated time for a few last minute home fix ups, and we HAVE to be out of here before tomorrow morning — the real estate agent will be in to stage the house and there is an open house for brokers already scheduled, so tag, you’re it… for whatever… I’m too tired to write sensibly (do I ever?)… Leon is completely exhausted since he doesn’t know when to stop working, so seeing me on the computer goofing off at a time like this… well, let’s just say neither of us would be the most pleasant of people… HOWEVER, that said, we have actually stayed amazingly calm and happy in spite of trying to move in less than a month when we thought we had 6 months to finish refurbishing the house…(NO, we didn’t get all the details done, are you kidding? He had to work full time until Friday!) I will be reading y’all’s stuff from the motels…
Now, back to packing and saying, “Toss, try to find room in the car, try to find room in storage. Fine, I will toss it, but I’m buying a new one in Florida once you get your commissions. Why are you taking that shirt, it is hard to iron? Stop, don’t give that one away, I love you in that shirt. You need to touch up here… you missed a spot. I know you had your day all organized, but you HAVE to drop what you are doing and fix that outside outlet… did you not see the radar? We are never going to find a place for all this before midnight. Let’s just give that to our neighbor. Stop the mail. Oh no! That’s the fifth time you have reminded me… The cable modem? No, we didn’t return it… What time does that store close? Maybe another store on the way out of town tomorrow has a drop off for the cable equipment… What? That has to go all the way to Everett, 45 minutes away before they close because it is considered a dangerous chemical? No, I didn’t fill out the seller disclosure yet, I know I said I would get it to you today… oops…” and so on, not all those said by me, of course.. but who has the time to format today….
and then, living in a small town, “Neither the hardware or Fred Meyers had it, I have to run to Home Depot.” (Keep in mind it is a good 35-40 minutes away.)
And we forgot about rush hour traffic making the 1.5 hour round trip to drop stuff for shipping takes 3 hours in rush hour, if we are lucky… So, guess when he gets back from Home Depot, he will find out he has to change plans and start loading the shipping stuff in the SUV. Do you think it will fit?
In spite of the little headaches — it is still fun — for the most part… Breaks over, computer being disconnected and added to packing pile… You can’t walk in the living room, you have Goodwill, storage, to be packed and taken, to be packed for shipping, to be put in storage, to be who knows yet.
Then there is the paint and tools and get rid of somehow…. ahhh, moving, one of life’s little adventures… especially when you decide to do it faster than possible…. I think we will have to sleep a whole day to recover for the trip… grin…
Oh, you were expecting poetry?
Roses are red,
but right not who cares,
I’ll take lots of pictures
and chase away the bears
of the human kind,
who want our stuff,
they may think I’m a pushover
but they underestimate
a woman completely exhausted,
for females get a second wind,
think about our kids,
then we tap every mentally
irritating or mean thing we have ever
been the receiving end of
and attack… so look out you few evil people
who look for travelers… I learned a few things
in my 58 years… and the only statistic — is going to
be in my favor…
because right now, I am in mother mode
despite the fact my child is nowhere near.
