3WW - Life, after children’s bedtime

Bone keeps on prompting for 3WW, even when we don’t all show… I’m back, I did ones I missed, but I will post them later, just to say I did… but today’s words were:

phone
stumbled
windy

Life, after children’s bedtime

one phone rang
hand shot out to answer

two feet stumbled
over themselves
in sleep,

It’s too windy
what was that noise?
I’m scared

I have to go
was murmured into phone
a twinge of longing
for his voice shoved
with effort back inside

two arms reached out to
pull tired child into arms,
it was only the wind,
would you like to hear a story
about the wind?

Lovely poem. I have a little one experiencing sleep issues. Your poem struck a chord with me. Nicely done.

Ah, how sweet it is. Mixed desires but scared kiddies always deserve a story! Great post! Missed you!

    Welcome back! :)

I enjoyed this. A mother’s job is never done, right? Even after the first bedtime story.

Welcome back! You haven’t skipped a beat. Your poem was really sweet. I am glad the mother chose to soothe her children instead of talking with the person on the phone. Ahh! But, I am sure she can call him back after they fall asleep. Keep up the good work.
