Monday Mural - True to Herself

She grows into the woman she chooses to be:

“Mummy, may I keep him?”
she asked without removing her gaze
from her captive audience.

“Husband, may I speak with you?”
she asked without a thought
to her deference
toward him.

For Monday Mural today, Michelle at Poefusion posted a painting she actually has in her home. My muse never fails to respond to a prompt, not always brilliantly, but it never fails. Tonight, it flunked, I won’t say it failed because two whole sentences came out and a title and I felt the character of the little girl in the painting and knew she would grow up to defer to her husband - at first. The first word that came to me was “Mummy” and then I knew as an adult she would show “deference”… but, I will settle for the word flunked, grin.

Follow the link above and view the painting and see how you react, then read how the others saw it… we are all so different in how we see things, isn’t that awesome?

I love this! And, I am interested in seeing how this continues to develop. If you ever revisit this poem please let me know as I am wondering how it will turn out. Keep up the good work.

    Have a nice day.
