A continuation of Poetry Tumble, started from one line of a special poem by a special poet. From that point I took the last line of my poem and made it the first line of another poem, not as a story continuation, but a new poem that stands alone. To see whose poem I borrowed (with permission) a line from — and to read the entire collection in order, click on Poetry Tumble tab at the top of the blog.
Good or Evil - Simple?
Enemies grew into their mask?
Was it as simple as that?
One person, once enemy,
became friend:
wearing that mask
required filling the shoes
of he who was replaced;
positive growth to match
the filled heart it portrayed.
One person, once friend,
became enemy
wearing that mask
required filling the shoes
of he who was replaced;
negative growth to match
the hollowed heart it portrayed.
What if it were that simple?
Would we start with the boots or mask?
