Star Struck


An insisted
playback of
life’s video
would bring a
needed reality check
of a slight misstep in memory:

She had only imagined
the word “girlfriend” was said
by that gorgeous hunk of a man
two hours ago
as she hugged her cinnamon latte,
wishing it were him, while
blocking his exit.

“Let’s be friends,” he had uttered out of mouth’s corner
when forced to say something,

anything,

to get the star crazed woman
to let him walk
out his

once

favored coffee shop.
