Monday Mural, Gandered Goose

Strange mood, I am in while playing catch up. Michelle’s Monday Mural prompt was an interesting picture of what I presumed were geese in flight, having rarely seen them. Check out the picture prompt and read what others saw in the picture at Poefusion. I took license with the title - and words.

Gandered Goose

Deceptive,
your graceful flight.

Such seduction belies
the strength of a
beak that clamps shut
on he who could not
outrun wings flapping insanely
in the thrill of the chase.

I watch you now with wary eyes,
but stay not your course
for one deception warrants another

in my book.

Oh, deception can lead to such naughty places. I really like this. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice night.

Hi Marcia! I really like this! And I like the tone you set from the very first line, with “deceptive/ your graceful flight.”

The great thing about the Monday Mural is that we all see it so differently. Where you saw geese, I saw swans and an old hag.

geese can be amazingly aggressive can’t they??? and i totally agree with you to see one in flight is pure grace… but it is kind of people… a lot of us look real nice till we open our mouths!!!!

I like the metaphor of geese and deception. Graceful flight, but look out for the beak!
