This is the 18th poem I have written in this series - and only 18 because I force myself not to just sit and write continually… it is a fight. Occasionally, I write 2 in the series at once… but rarely - and this last line is just begging me to start a new poem. I refuse, I am stronger than it….(Yeah, right. More like I will appear strong because I have other obligations. Shush, I know that doesn’t stop me half the time. I am trying to be different today.)
These poems started from one line of a special poem by a special poet. From that point I took the last line of my poem and made it the first line of the next poem — not as a story continuation, but a new poem that stands alone. To see whose poem I borrowed (with permission) a line from — and to read the entire collection in order, click on Poetry Tumble tab at the top of the blog.
Quest for Truth
Why didn’t he just write a new ending?
We surely wish to know,
and wish it will have to be
for the knowledge of his truth
will remain buried within him
as surely as guesses are like
opinions (or the other),
we all will have them,
although we may use them
for unintended purposes.Of course, thought may someday
be accessible by machine,
but if the thinker fails to
acknowledge his own truth,
machines will be useless;
I beg to continue this guessing game….MeeAugraphie
