Heart’s Muse?

Her
fingers caress
metal strands


strike a chord

while
moonlight seeks
soul’s distress


tide comes in

his
feet tread on
faltered smiles


hearts obsess

while
caught between
breezes flow

minds confess

Yes, I edited some, and had to work harder than normal with the pattern (once it started unbidden). I also tried different stanza splits before settling on this one…

    you caught the mood of the painting. It was ethereal and melancholy.

    I love the last four lines of this poem, you seal it well.

    it’s hard to pick and choose the right words sometimes but I think you’ve done a pretty good. I really like - his feet tread on faltered smiles
