I love Bone! OK, make that I love a good prompt! Check out the words of all the writers who participate in his Three Word Wednesday. You will be so glad you did!
Oh, the three words: Apology – Consider – Distant
The Apology
Madam Constantine,Consider my apology
but a distant memory
soon to fade from
your lackluster mind
for I fear new information
has reached my heart
and I must, in good conscience,
withdraw my most heartfelt words
and,
rather than replace them
with words heated in more than
mere disdain, I simply ask
that you consider my apology
and me
but a distant memory
soon to fade.Cordially,
Frances Albert Smythe, III

Hmm, I was really intrigued by the background on this one! Who is Frances Albert Smythe, III? How’d he get so cheeky? And does she deserve it?
well that was sweet concise perfection wasn’t it????
I feel like I’m there. Neat letter and response to the prompt!
It’s interesting how the word “apology” triggered this formal letter. The same trend of thoughts surfaced in what I wrote too.
Yes, Mr. Smythe will become a distant memory, as his words are very formal and distant!
Wow, talk about formal! This formal letter of apology is so far less than Madam Constantine deserved. I hope she tells him to go to hell!
Apologies are so often formal – and not really meant.
Marcia,
I found this so wonderous!
I’m glad he put her in her place, and so curt and concise.
She never thought he’d find her out but nothing stays secret for long. Isn’t it fortunate that the prompt words just happened to fall into place?
Really, very well done.

Very good. You’re taking me back into another time.
You can find my 3 words <a href=”http://www.laaneworld.com/2008/02/three-word-wednesday_27.html” rel=”nofollow”>::here::</a>.
Have a great day!
Laane, I am so glad you picked up on another time. Thank you.
Oh the circular direction is great and I love the polite and concise language used to veil a much stronger emotion. Nicely done!
Thank you, Square1, it was actually great fun to try to be concise, not easy for me.
Oh, I love that! What a creative use of the prompts. Great job!
Thank you, Jane.
lackluster mind, new information…indeed! bah!..Madame cries dry tears for one who speaks w/a forked tongue… great post!!!
I can see whose side you are on, LittleWing. I took the other side “this time”, but dry tears for one who speaks w/a forked tongue sounds plausible, too.
I loved this! I have a few 3ww faves this week and this is one of them…a letter, some mystery, excellent writing and best of all not letting someone get the rise of rage and hate up in arms inside of you! Instead a nice ambivalent sorry…love it!
Wow, I guess you understood him. Thank you, Amarettogirl.
Well that was just bloody fantastic. great job.
Thank you! (I thought Leon and I were the only ones that used bloody around here.)
I read this in Craig Ferguson’s voice. It worked
Thanks for promoting 3WW so kindly every week, Marcia. Even though Bone doesn’t always manage to participate. What’s up with that?
Not MeeAugraphie feels that Bone is just trying to make us feel better by failing to participate occasionally… Makes us feel less guilty. Thanks for mention Feguson, I googled and had some good laugh over some of his clips. Can’t here the apology in it, but I am not as experienced as you.
I had missed this last week. Glad I could catch up with this.
Thank you.
