Michelle chose a most interesting picture as her Monday Mural prompt. This poem is my true reaction to it…. Check out what it was I reacted to at Poefusion. Can’t wait to read the words it prompted from others!
I See
Why is it that others see beauty
and I see only the one picture
that I dislike
in the many I might notand turn away.
Why is it that others love
fall leaves
and I dislike them intensely
unless they are lone danglers
or scattered on the ground? Why is it that I see beauty
where others don’t
and don’t see it
where others do?No, do not answer that
for I do not wish to know.
I like who I am,today at least.

having never been much of a garden variety girl myself… i can especially appreciate your ability to see things in a different light… this was very simple and honest and i liked it…..
Thanks, paisley, honesty was all my muse would permit tonight.
I like your reaction - one person’s point of view can’t be compare to another, not really. you are quite honest with this piece.
Thanks, Lissa, I know it is true, but I did not expect those words, I expected something more off the wall to come out of me tonight.
Broken down to the essential essence of you. I like the idea of you or women in general liking themselves for who and what they are. Your first instincts are always the best. Have a nice night.
Hmm, so that is the essential essence of me… I suppose a few family members might agree with you….I wish we all liked ourselves more often!
I, too, prefer not to have answers when I ask those ?? questions without boundaries. I like this - strong yet not unmoveable.
Didn’t think of it in those words, Susan, strong yet not unmoveable, but I think that was my position.
Lovely directness and honesty - very poised!
The thing about me is that I cannot resist an answer. My father used to say: ‘If we all walked the same way, we’d never meet anyone.’
It is maybe good that we all see beauty, etc, in different things.
Nicely put question, by the way.
your true reaction comment is interesting… absolutely absolutes.. right now anyway… im still awash on the prompt and have enjoyed everyone’s comments… it has been truly enlightening…
Thought provoking words…
Crafty Green Poet, I am happy you found it thought provoking, thank you.
