Kindness - One Single Impression

One Single Impression chose kindness as their prompt for us this week. The examples given this week were awesome.

I could not decide whether to use one hand or kindness, so I wrote it both ways in order thought.

One hand extended
heat of emotion lessens
warmth bursts forth in bloom

–or–

Kindness extended
heat of emotion lessens
warmth bursts forth in bloom

I think I prefer “one hand”… What do you think?

    i prefer the rhythm & feel of “hand” in this haiku. what a perfect universal expression of kindness


    Hand was my initial response, I think I chose kindness later because the prompt was kindness, and extended hand kept saying help in my mind.. One of those times you second guess yourself, I guess. Thank you.

    My two cents? “One hand…” To my understanding it’s best to let the scene speak for itself. (”Show not tell…”) Kindness is most definitely implied in the hand extension.


    Patricia, that thought crossed my mind at one point, too, then left. I think that is why so many are choosing hand over kindness.
