One Poet’s Lament

Paisley wrote the following stanza in her poem, Transfixed, which she posted on ….why Paisley???:

my fingers,,
have become
the tongues
of my soul.

With her permission, I have used it, adapted slightly, to end the poem it inspired:

One Poet’s Lament

My feet
have run from
the remorse
of false steps

My ears
have become
the vessel
of life’s joys

My eyes
have become
the reflection
of soulful laments

My voice
has become
the sound track
of humanity’s fears

My heart
has become
the shoulders
of empathy

and thus,

My fingers
must become
the tongues
of our souls.

This poem was edited some – though, I rarely do.

thank you for the honor of choosing one of my lines around which to build this lovely piece…

this is so all encompassing,,, it really is desirous of another read…

You are sweet, but it is I is honored to have your words on my page — even Leon fell in love with your original stanza when I read it to him – and he is not a poet. You are too kind, Paisley.

    paisley’s last blog post..good bye…
