Belief

It is but one or two
things that incite me to riot
(on a more personal level)
and yet the nature of them
makes them seem many
rather than few

It is only safety
and honesty that I find
worth arguing for

(except when PMS
or lack of sleep
induce yet more insanity)

But, alas,
safety and honesty encompass
too much

and one day I may have to settle

I could choose honesty
but if we are not safe
we might not be here
to be honest.

I could choose safety
but if we are not honest
we might not be worth
removing from harm.

I suppose for many (of us) it is
a question more of energy
than belief

for some days it just takes
too much effort to stand
our ground another day.
