Where

Synapse

Weighted Words

Where
did
your empathy hide?
your consideration choose to escape?
your freedom sink from view?

When
did
your heart become cold from disuse?
your ability to think shrink to become non?
your feet become frozen in fear?

Please, don’t insult yourself by replying,

“I don’t know!”

without

first

deep thought

for your answers are merely
in limbo,
they wait for you

to fire the synapses
– connect them to conscious thought –

until then
they serve only to weigh you down.

this poem makes me think of the may times i have asked men in my life questions and they said… “i don’t know”.. it wasn’t till years later i realized,,, he probably didn’t his mind just never worked that way,, was never on the same boat as mine… and i forgave him for all of that as at the time i saw it as an unwillingness to cooperate.. .

    very thought provoking for me

I still fall into that trap, paisley, you would think after living with Leon nearly 34 years I would not….

    paisley’s last blog post..inner beast
