A Marriage
Even after
34 years,
minus a day or two,
of marriage,words still count
remarks still caress
or cutheat inflames
or ignitespassion wanes
and explodes
(yes, both kinds)differences surface
as similarities flow steadyvisions merge one day
and split with force anotherand commitment strengthens
fingers entwine
as schemes burst into fruition
between grins and wonder
at how on earth we got this far
and how much we want to stay
as one heart - and two personalitiesand perhaps that was the key.
