Cyclone Emotion
There comes the high and then the low
one more powerful today,
one more powerful tomorrowand though though their paths define erratic
with more precision than a calligrapher’s scroll… there is never a doubt one will come and one will go
and though forecasting how many, how long, which day
is fraught with errors and miscalculations… there is never a doubt one will come and one will go
and though their intensity
may stall or blow through quickly
… there is never a doubt one will come and one will gobut whether to prepare: to accept, to fight, to revel, or run.

I’m sure this poem came from seeing the low pressure weather maps all week – and from the low within that came from reading the news report yesterday from Toys for Tots….
Though I spoke against “consumerism” via the linked poem and photo below, I urge you, if at all possible, to donate a toy or money to your local or the national Toys for Tots!
Just in Palm Beach County Florida alone, they reported double the requests from organizations for toys to distribute — and half the donations this year. If you can, don’t let a child go without at least one toy, perhaps you bought too many, on hindsight, for your child and could donate one? If you can’t, know there are many people out there trying to help. Perhaps you are lucky enough to be one of them. If you haven’t yet, you still can:
Toy donation drop off locations by state, broken down by counties are found here: Toys for Tots.
Please, also, note: Gautami is giving us all a chance to share our creative efforts at Monday Poetry Train Revisited. It is a ride you will not forget, I’m sure. You will probably find yourself riding it again.

Excellent – it’s such a fine metaphor for the currents of life. Happy Christmas!

Nice work. Your poem reminds me of my meteorologist friend.
LIke your charity notice, too.
I loved the title.
Your poetry takes me into a whirlwind tour.

“fraught with errors and miscalculations” is so true about a weather forcast which without all the advanced calculus you cannot predict, yet nature is still not predictable in it’s entireity. Beautiful words and title. very enjoyable.
