Light War

Last night
Moon won its war
against the glare of landscape floods,
against the clutter of dimmed balcony and walkway lights

for Ocean chose to reflect only it
and I applauded in silence.

Today’s dawn
I realized it was not
Moon’s strong fight that won the war
nor Ocean’s strength of choice,

but a well laid plan by Nature’s Physicist
who engineered Moon to rise higher and shine brighter.

What was my prompt for these thoughts?

Find out here.

(For those of you who know I rarely edit, this one I did on the second half, because my thoughts on the war changed midstream. I love poetry – and unconscious thought.)

Funny you should write about the moon. Another one of the blogs I read wrote about it too – only the scientific approach.
