Road Course – again, poetry tumbles

42.Road Course

“but allows herself to change course — without notice”
is not a straight line to success

for it confuses those around her
who no longer second-guess results

for effort is thrown as curve balls,
perhaps, meant to be uncaught

for projects started collect dust
to become but dreams unkempt

fact is now conjecture
as definite shouts with hollow ring

yet, results unexpected are life surprises

yet, effort wasted is still calories burned

yet, projects undone are another’s treasure trove

and melancholy is shoved aside
and boredom is stopped in its tracks

and stagnant is broken
as any road taken is movement.

Yes, my Poetry Tumble, begun over a year and a half ago, continues, it started with one awesome line in a poem by Chris Sapp, who for years published his thought provoking poems on his blog. His line became my first line in this series. I chose to use my last line as the next first line with no guarantee of connection of thought from one poem to another as mind works with muse in mysterious ways. Poetry Tumble, when will it continue? Five minutes from now or months away? I have not a clue. But to see where my tumble took me, in chronological order, either click on the Poetry Tumble page at the top of this blog or click here.
