Prompt: Poefusion, to write using title above.

Ladder to Success
br>He climbed the well trod
ladder to success
to find
only dank air
and putrid skyIn disbelief,
he looked below
to see
scattered remains
of broken livesmixed they were with
pleasures missed
relationships crushed
a route to heart
not takenhis mind,
always quick
(in certain matters, only, it appears)
registered three choicesleap as if a lover’s mountain,
end it all right therewrap himself in fancy toys,
search for the next flight updescend the ladder,
start again with goals of heart insteadone was not an option
two pulled at what he knew
three seemed nigh impossibleso he held his head within his hands
and waited for the dawn.MeeAugraphie

A Poem
br>A poem, I might suggest,
is meant to be written
in the manner
a writer desires,is meant to be interpreted
at its reader’s sole
discretionAnd whether, by chance,
writer and reader are
one and the same – or twoor whether, one finds,
their views marry
or declare incompatibilityeach poem offers possibilities
found only through
an exchange of thought…be it between self or two.

Prompt: Poefusion, write about what a poem should be.

Life Miss-stagedramrod straight
they stood,
column unbroken,
with their
eyes riveted
straight ahead…
i.d. made,
cuffs applied
bail denied
door closed.MeeAugraphie

Michelle at Poefusion picked five words for us to use our creativity with. Tonight I did not have the presence of mind to use the words exactly; I do believe Michelle stumped Muse for a few minutes, grin. I had to give Muse permission to use the words however she liked, so a few changes were made, but that’s OK. It was fun. The original five words were: ram riveted bail break column.

Today was a tad stressful, but had some great moments at the same time – and certainly ended well.
The Writer’s Digest Poetic Asides Prompt today was regret and I regret I put it off until so late at night, but I posted an acrostic there and was happy with it, but I had first written two verses of an untitled one I chose not to use:
The Letter
br>we deeply regret,
the letter began
and she put her head
into her handsshe didn’t bother
reading more
just packed her bags
then closed the doorMeeAugraphie

And then I wrote another Acrostic, somedays, they really appeal to me:
Regret
br>Recession found
Equality denied
Grants revoked
Residuals lost
Emotions flogged
Tempers flaredMeeAugraphie

And then I asked Leon to give me three words and wrote:
Rained In
br>he brings me
cabbage soup
to warm my soulwhile storm rages
outside our doorbeach bothers not
to fight back as
waves pull sand
out to seaI wonder
if my heart
will wash awaywhen there is
no more cabbage soup

The three words: storm beach cabbage.
